USE KULLANIM ► Planlanmamış Gelecek Eylemler Simple Future Tense kullanılan gelecek zaman cümlelerinde herhangi bir planlama veya niyet yoktur. Gelecekte şartlardan dolayı meydana gelecek eylemlerden bahsedilirken kullanılır. Bu cümleler kurulurken yardımcı fiiller will ve shall kullanılır. Ancak shall son zamanlarda kullanımdan düşmüştür ve yerini bütün şahıslar için “will” e bırakmıştır. Sadece resmi yazışmalarda kullanımı vardır. Examples - I will be a mother. Anne olacağım. - Summer will come again. Yaz yine gelecek. - Will I see that man in your factory? Fabrikanızdaki o adamı görecek miyim? - They will live in the same city. Aynı şehirde oturacaklar. ► Konuşma Anında Verilen Karar Konuşma anında, gelecekle ilgili herhangi bir karar verildiğinde, will future tense kullanılır. Yani daha önceden planlanmış ve kesinleşmiş eylemler için bu zaman kullanılmaz. Bu kullanım da Türkçe'ye çevrilirken daha çok, "gideceğim, geleceğim" gibi -cek, -cak ekleriyle değil, "gideyim, geleyim" şeklinde çevrilir. Examples - The phone is ringing. Ben bir kola alayım, lüften. ► Tahmin, Zan, Ümit, Endişe Gelecekte olan olaylar hakkında tahminde bulunma, zannetme, ümit etme, emin olma, endişe etme gibi durumlarda da Future Tense kullanılır. Bu durumlarda da genellikle “if, when, as soon as, while” gibi bağlaçlar kullanılarak cümlenin anlamı pekiştirilir. Examples - I'm sure they'll help me. Eminim bana yardım edecekler. - He'll probably pass his class. Muhtemelen sınıfını geçecek. - Perhaps she'll talk to me after school. Belki de okuldan sonra benimle konuşacak. - I think I'll win the race. Sanırım yarışı kazanacağım. ► Resmi Duyurular Radyo, televizyon veya gazete gibi kitle iletişim araclarında resmi makamlara ait geleceğe dönük programlar haber olarak söylenirken yine Future Tense kullanılır. Examples - The Minister of Education will open a new school in Kadıköy tomorrow, and he will have lunch with local people. Milli Eğitim bakanı yarın Kadıköy'de yeni bir okul açacak ve yöre halkıyla öyle yemeği yiyecek. -The president of United States will visit England next week. Amerika Başkanı haftaya İngiltere'yi ziyaret edecek. ► Teklif Future tense ayrıca karşı tarafa birşey teklif ederken kullanılır. Examples A I have a bad headache. Çok kötü başım ağrıyor. B Oh, I will bring you an asprine, then. Ah, öyleyse sana bir asprin getireyim. A I am feeling very tired. Kendimi çok yorgun hissediyorum. B I will make your bed then. Öyleyse yatağını yapayım. B I'll get you some coffee. Sana biraz kahve getiriyim. ► Söz Vermek Future tense karşı tarafa söz vermek için de kullanılır. Examples - I will call you when I arrive. Varınca seni ararım. - I promise I won't tell him about the surprise party. Söz veriyorum. Ona sürpriz parti hakkında hiçbirşey söylemeyeceğim. ► Soru Kalıbı Simple Future Tense ile soru yapmak, diğer bütün zamanlarla aynıdır. Aşağıdaki örnekleri inceleyiniz. I will not I won't You will not you won't He will not he won't She will not she won't It will not it won't We will not we won't You will not you won't They will not they won't USE OF SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE We sometimes call simple future tense as "will future tense" and it is mainly used in three different situations. 1. Rapid Decisions We use will future tense to make a decision at that moment of speaking, in a spontaneous way. I'll call a taxi for you. I think we'll leave this place now. I just decided this right now A Would you like something to eat? B Um, I will have the chicken sandwich please. 2. Predictions We use will future when we think or believe something about the future based on our personel opinion. I think the prime minister will be re-elected at the next election. I think it will rain later. So put on your coat. I think you will find my boy friend very interesting. 3. Offer, Promise, Threat We use will future tense when we want to make an offer, a promise or a threat. You look tired. I'll finish this report myself. I will do my best to help you. Stop! If you move I will kill you! I will pay the money by tomorrow. Don't worry! I know it is a secret and I won't tell anyone. 4. Habits We use will future tense to talk about a a habit that is a predictable behaviour - Jack will drink coffee as soon as he wakes up in the morning. - He will finish his homework at the last minute. He always does that. BE CAREFUL! We don't use "will" for things we have already arranged to do or decided to do. We are going to Washington next week.
